Our Piaceri Italiani dried pulses are all of this and more: regional specialities, pure and simple, to serve a genuine, authentic product at the table, rich in flavour and nutritional properties.
Our dried pulses are grown on farms in Piedmont and Apulia, depending on the regional characteristics of each product, which may require particular soil and climate conditions. Once they are harvested, they are processed in our Altamura facility, which is equipped with sophisticated machinery in order to have absolute control over the safety of the entire production chain and guarantee the best possible quality standards.
Because good food, to be considered as such, must be both delicious and healthy.
Chickpeas, lentils, beans – our dried pulses are not only a pleasure for the palate, but also provide many types of fibre, to cleanse the body and keep cholesterol levels under control, mineral salts such as magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and iron, and vitamins C, E, B1, B2, B3 and PP, which have antioxidant properties and are useful for the nervous system.
They are also an alternative to animal proteins, as they are an excellent source of vegetable proteins, and their low fat content makes them ideal for a healthy, balanced diet.
Our Altamura Lentils IGP, with an intense, distinctive flavour, become firm and compact when cooked, ready to be enjoyed with onion, garlic and bay leaves, or as a base for many first and second course recipes. Our Piaceri Italiani Murgia Chickpeas are delicious, healthy, and are the ideal ingredient for the preparation of many typical dishes, not only from Apulia; while our Piedmont Stregoni Beans, with a delicate flavour and fine skins, crumbly and soft when cooked, are perfect to make unforgettable traditional soups, or to accompany many types of pasta, side dishes or salads.
