Our pesto is made exclusively with Genovese basil DOP, harvested fresh only in the summer just a few kilometres from the production site, part of a short, carefully monitored production chain in a family-run agricultural context, using only selected suppliers.
The result is a product made with natural raw ingredients and regional ingredients, the best expression of typical Ligurian cuisine.
Our Piaceri Italiani Pesto alla Genovese is made with extra-virgin olive oil, processed directly in the production facility’s olive press, and local Genovese basil DOP.
The intense fragrance and flavour of fresh basil, along with the typical bright colour of the pesto, is the fruit of not only the high quality of the raw ingredients used but also the development of a production process that involves no pasteurisation.
Our pesto pairs perfectly with our Piaceri Italiani Trofie, lightly diluted with cooking water from the pasta, for a dish that masterfully honours Ligurian tradition.
